Is your internet service stable?
We are committed to delivering a consistent internet signal at your selected speed when connected directly to the modem.
To help you get the best Wi-Fi experience, we also provide a quality router at no extra charge. However, please remember that a Wi-Fi signal can be affected by factors like the size of your home and how many devices are connected.
Plume SuperPod
The first Plume SuperPod is provided to you free of charge with new subscriptions.
- Estimated coverage: 1500 square feet.
- You can add up to 2 additional Plume SuperPods to extend your network even further. Rental fees apply.
Do not mix up our signal stability with the Wi-Fi signal coming from a router.
If you run a speed test, the only reliable result is the one obtained from a computer plugged directly in the modem with an ethernet cable.
To ensure the strongest signal and a good performance on your Wi-Fi network, make sure to place your router in an open space and near the center of your home. The router should not be placed inside a closet or cabinet or near some metal furniture which could affect the waves' range.
Using Your Own Router
If you prefer to use your own personal Wi-Fi router, you can certainly do so.
Remember, a Wi-Fi signal can be affected by factors like the size of your home and how many devices are connected. For the best performance, place your router in an open, central location in your home, and avoid putting it inside a closet or near metal objects.
Internet Service Quality
The quality of your internet service depends on two main factors:
- The Last-Mile Network: This is the connection that delivers internet directly to your home. We use the reliable fiber and coaxial networks.
- The Backbone Network: This is the network that connects all of our customers to the internet. We use our own 100% redundant optical fiber network, built with high-quality, carrier-class hardware from companies like Cisco and Juniper. The reliability of our backbone network is comparable to that of Canada's major providers.
One final tip: When running a speed test, the most reliable result is always from a computer plugged directly into the modem with an Ethernet cable.
Do not mix up our signal stability with the Wi-Fi signal coming from a router.
