How do I manage Parental Controls and other security features in the Plume Home app?
Plume Home®: Keeping your connected life secure
Plume Home provides advanced network-level security to help protect all the devices in your home. Some of our security features work across your entire network, while others can be customized for specific devices or people in your home.
You get network-wide protection from threats, but you can also choose to block or allow specific websites based on your family's needs.
Key Security Features
Online Protection
This powerful feature works to protect your devices from connecting to harmful sites known for hosting malware, phishing scams, spam, and other online threats. When Online Protection is enabled, it automatically blocks access to these dangerous domains and IP addresses to keep your family safe.
Advanced IoT Protection
Not all threats are known. Advanced IoT Protection guards your network against new, unknown attacks that aren’t yet in any threat database. It works by detecting unusual activity from your connected devices.
If a device tries to connect to a site in a way that’s inconsistent with its normal behavior, that connection is blocked. The device is then automatically quarantined from the rest of your network, preventing any potential infection from spreading. You decide what to do with the quarantined device after the threat has been contained.
Adblocking
Tired of pop-ups and video ads? Adblocking improves your browsing experience by blocking most web and video advertisements. You can easily enable this feature for any of the profiles you create.
Content Filtering
With Content Filtering, you can easily control the type of internet content that can be accessed on your network. This feature is set when you create a profile and can be changed anytime. You can choose from four different levels:
Content filtering levels
- None - No content is blocked
- Light (default) - Some sensitive content for adults 18+ is blocked.
