Setting up your Plume network.
Ready to set up your Plume network? It's easy! Just follow this simple, step-by-step guide, and you'll be connected in no time.
First things first, let's make sure you have everything you need:
- Plume SuperPod device
- Modem
- Ethernet cord
- Coaxial cable
- A mobile device, like a smartphone or tablet
Now, let's get started:
- Let's start by unboxing your Plume SuperPod and setting it up next to your modem.
- Connect the power cable to your modem, then plug the modem into a coaxial outlet using a coaxial cable.
- Now grab an Ethernet cable, and connect your modem to your Plume SuperPod
- Plug your Plume SuperPod into a wall socket, and watch for that blue or green light to appear and vanish.
Next up, you'll need the Plume Home app:
- Head to your app store (App Store for iOS devices or Google Play Store for Android devices)
- Search for "Plume Home" and download the app.
If you're currently without Internet or can't seem to download our app, don't hesitate to get in touch with our Customer Care Team. They're always ready to help.
Now, let's create a Plume account:
- On the welcome screen, tap "Create Account"
- Accept the Terms and Conditions
- Enter the email address associated with your Cogeco account and tap "Next"
- Check your email for a verification code, pop it into the app, and tap "Verify"
Finally, let's set up the Plume network:
Once you’re logged in, you can set up your network in a few easy steps:
- Confirm that your modem is online.
Depending on your modem model, it may need to be connected to the first pod or extender with an Ethernet cable. If it tells you to do this in the app, do not disconnect the pod or extender after the installation.
- The app will prompt you when it’s time to connect your Wi-Fi SuperPod. When you reach this step, proceed with the following steps.
- Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into your modem and the other end into the left Ethernet port on the back of your Wi-Fi SuperPod.
- Plug your Wi-Fi SuperPod into a power outlet. The LED light on your Wi-Fi SuperPod should be blue/green as it boots up and connects. Once connected and operating normally after Step 5, the LED will turn off.
- Continue following the on-screen instructions in the Plume Home app to create your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
- Connect your Plume SuperPods or extenders to power outlets and check the app to confirm that they all come online. The app will already know how many were sent to you and will show you when each one comes online.
- If you have additional Wi-Fi SuperPods: Connect your additional Wi-Fi SuperPods to a power outlet between a Wi-Fi dead spot (an area of the home where devices get little to no Wi-Fi signal) and your wired SuperPod.
- Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device.
- Open the Plume Home app.
- Select ‘Network’ from the navigation menu
- Swipe to the ‘Extenders’ section and tap the + next to any discovered extenders
- Tap ‘Done’.
- Connect your devices: To connect a device, find your new Wi-Fi network name on the list of available Wi-Fi networks on your device then enter your network password. You may need to toggle Wi-Fi on and off or restart the device for it to find the new network.
And you're all set! Enjoy your new Plume SuperPod network!
